Educational Assistant - Special Education Resource Room – Sandstone Middle School

The Hermiston School District is seeking a dedicated Educational Assistant for Sandstone Middle School. The successful candidate will assist students in various classrooms under the supervision of the assigned teacher. Classroom assignments may include ELL, Kindergarten, Special Education, and/or Title I Reading.
Qualifications Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet NCLB educational requirements by possessing a minimum of an Associate's Degree or 72 college credit hours. Alternatively, passage of the ParaPro Assessment or the Work Keys Assessment test meets the educational requirement. The ParaPro/Work Keys exam is administered by the District as needed.
- Demonstrated standards of moral character and behavior as required of teachers.
- Previous experience working with students is desired.

The Hermiston School District, the largest district in eastern Oregon, serves over 5,300 students in grades K-12. The district includes a 9-12 senior high school, two 6-8 middle schools, and six K-5 elementary schools.
In 2019, the district approved an $82.7 million building project, including new facilities and renovations. The district also received a $69.9 million bond in 2008.

Salary and Benefits:

- Hourly Rate: $16.04 - $22.57, based on relevant experience.
- Working Notification Year: 192 days (school year), including 5 paid holidays.
